Some results of the implementation of the project of restructuring commercial banks in Vietnam

Abstract

Since the financial crisis of 2008 up to now, Vietnam economy in general and the banking sector in particular are still facing many difficulties and challenges. As the lifeblood of the economy, maintaining stability and strengthening the operational capacity of the banking system is a matter of particular concern. The restructuring plan of credit institutions in the period 2011 - 2015 issued by the Government under the Decision No. 254 / QD-TTg dated March 01, 2012 was approved with the goal of responding to difficulties and difficulties. The existence of a system of credit institutions (CIs) exists to improve the level of safety and improve the performance of the whole system. This article aims to generalize the results of the project implementation after two years based on the data of 28 commercial banks, identifying some shortcomings and giving some orientations in the coming time.
