Abstract

The study analyzes the impact of the TPP Agreement on poverty reduction in Vietnam in the coming years. The results of the analysis show that TPP offers many opportunities for Vietnam to eliminate poverty by positively impacting Vietnam's economic growth, increasing labor demand, and creating opportunities to improve competitiveness. At the same time, the TPP poses many challenges in poverty reduction that require the adaptation of the Vietnamese economy and the poor in particular. In particular, the study finds that tackling poverty in mountainous and ethnic minority areas is a key solution for poverty reduction in the coming integration phase.
