Abstract

Objective: To describe the work motivation of nurses at Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital in2024 and explore related factors.

Subjects and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 270 nurses working at Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital from March 2024 to October 2024.

Results: The work motivation of nurses at the hospital remained relatively low (47.8%), with an average score of 3.5 ± 0.56 points. There was a statistically signifcant association between income level, having a family member with an illness, and nurses’ work motivation (p < 0.05).

Conclusion and Recommendations: The hospital should improve income policies, support nurses with difcult circumstances, create a friendly working environment, and provide opportunities for professional development. In addition, flexible support mechanisms should be implemented for nurses who have ill family members, along with reward and recognition programs to enhance morale and improve the quality of care.
