Demands of inpatients for social work services at Vietnam – Germany Hospital
Abstract
Objective: The study aimed to describe the demands of inpatients for social work services at Vietnam – Germany Hospital in 2018. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study, using quantitative research methods with the participation of 420 inpatients. The study collected data in 5 faculties: Orthopedic trauma I, Oncology, Neurosurgery I, Hepatobiliary surgery and Urological surgery in the period of April to May, 2018. Main findings: The research results show that patients had different demands for social work services: 81.9% of patients wished to provide medical information and guidance services; 68,6% of patients demanded to be provided health education information; 62.9% of patients demanded psychological support; and 55.5% of patients demanded to connect resources and charitable support. Conclusion: A number of recommendations was made regarding human resources, facilities, communication, and monitoring the implementation of social work services at the Hospital.
