Knowledge, attitude, and behavior of health workers on social work profession at Vietnam National Children’s Hospital

Abstract

Objective: Describe the status of knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of medical staffs toward work at the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital (VNCH) in 2019. Research method: Cross-sectional study conducted on 90 medical staffs working in clinical departments on 3 types of disease: acute, chronic and resuscitation at VNCH (address: 18/879 La Thanh Ward, Dong Da District, Ha noi city, Vietnam in 2019. Results: the research’s results showed that medical staffs of VNCH had an average level of knowledge about social works (48.9%). Most of the medical staffs had a positive attitude about social works (80%) and showed the appropriate interaction (75.6%) with social workers. Conclusion: It is highly necessary to raise the knowlege of medical staffs about social works in the hospital that contributes to inprove the quality as well as the role of social work activities in the hospital.
