Abstract

By cross-section analysis method, this study has made statistics of stock price movements of 18 commercial banks listed on Vietnam's stock market by trading floor and by type of bank. The results show that the share prices of commercial banks traded on the stock exchange market of unlisted companies (UPCOM) under the Hanoi Stock Exchange have higher volatility than the stock prices of commercial banks listed on the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE); Stock prices of state- owned commercial banks fluctuated less than stock prices of commercial banks.
