Abstract

Public asset insurance helps prevent government’s budget from sudden shocks such as natural disasters. However, the designing and building of an appropriate insurance program is a hard task that requires coordination of different parties. Countries with developed insurance markets and ASEAN countries have applied different policies to develop public asset insurance. Based on studying the public asset insurance experience of selected countries in the world, the article offers some lessons for Vietnam.
