Abstract

The Fourth Industrial Revolution with its digital wave has driven and ignited global commerce. In this context, Customs plays a crucial role in ensuring both facilitating trade and fulfilling tasks that meet the requirements and regulations of national laws while aligning with international customs practices. The increase in the volume of goods, passengers, and transportation means, together with the digitization efforts in state customs administration, has led to changes in customs management approaches and enforcement methods. Consequently, since 2011, customs authorities have been implementing and deploying a risk-based compliance management approach, considering both breadth and depth.
