Abstract

The study synthesizes theories related to trade credit, corporate profitability, and empirical studies around the correlation between trade credit (expressed in accounts receivable) and profitability; thence, study and re-examine the impact relationship between them.Research data is collected from information taken from the financial statements of 143 enterprises in the construction industry on the Vietnamese stock market in the period 2018 - 2022 with 715 observations included in the model. Research results show that there exists anegative linear relationship between trade credit and the profitability of construction enterprises. On the basis of the research results, we propose policy implications to help businesses improve profitability and reduce lousy debt risks when using too high trade credit policies.
