SIMULATION OF DIFFERENTIAL PROTECTION FOR TEACHING RELAY PROTECTION MODULE

Relay protection plays an important role in detecting and eliminating incidents in the power system to reduce damage caused by incidents, ensuring reliable operation of the network. Differential protection is a type of relay protection that works with high reliability and absolute selectivity, which is often used as main protection for generators, transformers, motors, busbars... and other important elements in the power system. This article refers to the working evaluation of differential protection for various system elements from the design to working efficiency of the relay. The modelisation and simulation allows to realize important steps in designing, testing, verifying and evaluating the performance of relay protection. In this research, the author presents a simulation model of the differential protection function used to protect transformers in the distribution grid system using Matlab/Simulink. The working of the differential relay protection will be simulated when incidents occur inside and outside the protection range
