RESEARCH ON THE FAST CHARGING METHOD FOR LITHIUM BATTERY BASED ON THERMAL MODEL

Abstract

Fast charging for Lithium-ion is an essential problem that needs to be resolved to impulse the development of electric vehicles. This paper proposes a new charging method based on thermal model, which reduces charging time and ensures cycle life of battery. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation. Under ambient temperature is 298°F, the simulation results show that the charging time of the proposed method equal to 83.44%, 0.8%, 64.15% in comparison with the constant current constant voltage charging method, multi-stage constant current charging method, and pulse charging method respectively.
