THE NEED FOR CARBON MARKET IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Nowadays, development of carbon markets has been marked as an urgent need due to its corresponding economic gains, environmental protection merits, sustainable development goal, international relationship establishment via scientific, technology and financial investment activities. This research discusses voluntary carbon market model and its potential of application in Viet Nam. In addition, its general analysis and assessment of the international needs for carbon market, the current status of countries’ carbon market development, analysis and opinion on the advantages of Viet Nam’s context shall lend a strong ground for the country’s carbon market development.
