In recent years, the nitrogen controlled atmosphere (N2-CA) storage technology is being extensively
investigated to minimize post-harvest losses by using nitrogen gas for achieving a N2-CA and
maintaining a high level of nitrogen in the container through periodic nitrogen filling. Herein, our
work demonstrated the ability of application of N2-CA technology in paddy storage in Vietnam. The
obtained results showed that at a high level for nitrogen of over 98% and low oxygen level less than
2%, the paddy qualities are maintained during time of 36 months according to requirements of the
National technical Regulation QCVN 14: 2014/BTC.
