Abstract

We describe a case involving a 30-year-old man with a previous history of varicella, who developed an acute febrile episode associated with a progressively spreading skin rash. At onset, the skin eruption presented as maculopapular lesions, later transforming into vesiculopapular eruptions with hemorrhagic characteristics. Typical Koplik spots were also observed on illness day 7, which was day 5 of the rash. The diagnosis was confirmed via positive measles-specific IgM serology.
