Abstract

This study analyzes and evaluates certain characteristics and tourism potential of coastal fishing villages in Northern Vietnam. Using both secondary and primary data collected through representative surveys across some of the fishing villages, the findings reveal that while natural resources constitute a key attraction for visitors, the limited availability and quality of tourism
services diminish the overall appeal of these destinations. To address this problem, management authorities, local governments, and community stakeholders should focus on enhancing the tourism attributes of these destinations, preserving local culture, developing traditional seafood cuisine, promoting destination branding, and fostering a hospitable environment for visitors.
