“VIETNAM IS A FRIEND” - A NEW GUIDELINE IN VIETNAM’S FOREIGN POLICY

Abstract

“Vietnam is a friend” to countries in the international community is a constituent element of our nation’s foreign policy. It is the result of inheriting our ancestors’ diplomatic traditions of humanity, peace, respect for reason, justice, and righteousness throughout history. This viewpoint represents the crystallization of Hồ Chí Minh’s distinctive diplomatic thought, which has been continuously supplemented and developed by our Party through successive Congresses in the Đổi mới period, with the goal of combining national strength with the strength of the times, thereby vigorously mobilizing resources to build a prosperous and happy country.
