Tóm tắt

Confucianism is a renowned political-ethical philosophical doctrine from China, introduced to Vietnam during the period of Northern domination. Confucian ethical views such as the “Three Moral Bonds” (tam cương), “Five Constant Virtues” (ngũ thường), and “Five Human Relationships” (ngũ luân) have had a profound and widespread influence, becoming one of the elements of Vietnamese culture. The process of Confucianism's introduction into Vietnam, through various dynasties, was also the process by which the Vietnamese people critically and selectively received and modified their ethical views to suit Vietnamese cultural and social traditions. In this, patriotism was the primary foundation of moral value that guided the entire process of acculturating Confucian ethical views throughout Vietnam's history.
