THE VALUES OF SOCIALISM IN VIETNAM IN THE PERIOD 1930 - 2022

In this paper the author outlines the brief process of building socialism in Vietnam. The process was theoretically prepared by the Communist Party of Vietnam as early as 1930. The author argues that the specific ideas about socialism and building socialism reflect distinctive characteristics of Vietnam, shaped by the complex historical and social conditions of the country. The author emphasizes that within the whole process of building socialism in Vietnam, the most striking period was the emergence of a renewed socialist Vietnam—one that is open to integration and continuously developing in recent decades. Over more than three decades since Doi Moi (Renovation), a long period of peace and stability in the country's history has created conditions for Vietnam to awaken its spirit of independence and selfreliance, while adapting to a dynamic, civilized, and developing world.
