OTOACOUSTIS EMISSIONS IN CONGENITAL HEARING LOSS CHILDREN AT TOLARYNGOLOGY HOSPITAL OF HO CHI MINH CITY FROM 2020 TO 2021
Abstract
Background: Hearing is very important to children. Congenital hearing loss means hearing loss that is present at birth. Otoacoustic emission has a lot of advantages to diagnose and evaluate hearing loss in children.Objectives: To describe clinical features and analyse otoacoustic emission results in congenital hearing loss children.
Methods: A series descriptive, prospective study was carried out on 102 children with confirmed diagnosis of congenital hearing loss at Otolaryngology Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City from 2020 to 2021.
Results: Speech delay is the most reason for going to doctor (55.9%). The first time to diagnose congenital hearing loss is 31.7 months. 100 children have “prefer” in otoacoustic emission results, when 2 children have “pass” in both ears. Noise is high when we use low frequency. Older children have lower noise than younger children.
Conclusions: Children were diagnosed congenital hearing loss at the higher age. Most of them have abnormal cochlear.
