Abstract

Along with the development of the economy, more and more civil works are invested and built in the coastal area. In buildings with a scale of less than 5 floors with reinforced concrete load-bearing structures, due to the impacts of the marine climate environment with the causative agent of corrosion, Ion chloride, damages have occurred although these buildings have put into use for not a long time. This is the cause of the shortening of the life of the building. One of the basic solutions to ensure the long-term sustainability or longevity of the building is “maintenance”. This study aims to develop a maintenance process for coastal civil buildings with reinforced concrete load-bearing structures in order to have a basis for the effective application of construction maintenance work, contributing to ensuring stability, increasing the life of the works, and improving the efficiency of using coastal civil works.
