Mang Thit Pottery Village: From Cultural Heritage to Unique Tourism Product

Abstract

Mang Thit – a district of Vinh Long province – is famous for its traditional red brick and pottery craft village that have existed for more than 200 years. In the context of sustainable cultural tourism development, exploiting the cultural values of this craft village to build unique tourism products is considered a suitable direction. This study used document analysis and in-depth interviews to assess the cultural values ​​of Mang Thit brick and pottery heritage, analyze potentials and challenges, and thereby proposing orientations and models for unique tourism development. The results show that to develop sustainable tourism in Mang Thit, it is necessary to integrate heritage conservation, community development and creation of new tourism products associated with traditional cultural values.
