Vietnam Education in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Abstract
The article aims to comprehensively analyze the necessary innovations that education needs to undertake in the context of Industrial Revolution 4.0, thereby enabling educational administrators to make sound management decisions in order to cope with the changes. Firstly the article sheds light on the nature of Education 4.0 as a heightened level of so-called personalized learning based on the application of the disruptive technologies, while contending that personalized learning is the ultimate goal of the whole development process of all learning theories and numerous academic, financial, managerial innovations and reforms and technologies etc. in education so far. In particular, the analysis is focused on relevant characteristics that are supposed to play a key role in education in the context of industrial revolution 4.0, such as: new educational goal with focus on innovation and values creation; transdisciplinary curriculum; the concept of school as a learning ecosystem; and the need to maximize the level of experiential teaching and learning through the application of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. Finally, the paper attempts to assess the current status of Vietnamese education in terms of quality and level of information technology, thereby suggesting some recommendations for the orientation of Vietnamese education in the time to come.Downloads
