Composition of fish species in downstream of Thac Mo hydropower plant

Abstract

    Thac Mo Hydroeclectric Plant is located by Be river, in Duc Hanh, Bu Gia Map, Binh Phuoc. Its expansion helps increase the capacity of the reservoir and stabilize local electric system. However, large hydroelectric plants can destroy the local ecological balance. Therefore, there is an urgent need to make more reseach in fish biodiversity as well as exploting situation so as to come up with methods that can reserve and develop fish diversity while giving the residents useful tips on types of fish with high economic values, thereby protecting, restoring and developing freshwater fish resources in the Binh Phuoc province.
