Management outcomes of inpatient experience and influencing factors at Van Phuc General Hospital, 2023

Abstract

    This study aimed to describe the management outcomes of inpatient experience and analyze factors influencing the experience at Van Phuc General Hospital, Binh Duong Province. A cross-sectional study design combining both quantitative and qualitative methods was conducted from September 2022 to February 2023 with 360 inpatients. The results showed that 87.2 % of patients reported a positive experience upon admission, 94.4 % during hospitalization, 94.2 % regarding hospital fee payment, and 95.6% before discharge. The overall positive experience rate reached 95 %. Factors influencing patient experience included several aspects: Regarding policies and regulations, although the hospital had not officially implemented patient experience surveys, various supportive policies were issued. In terms of human resources, a shortage of support staff affected the professional activities of healthcare workers. Concerning facilities, while modern equipment was available, some old buildings required renovation. Cost consultation was performed clearly and effectively. Communication activities were well implemented, contributing to increased patient satisfaction.
