Process of the micropropagation of Ochna integerrima (Lour.)Merr
Abstract
Ochna integerrima (Lour.) Merr. is a popular ornamental plant which has high economic value in Viet Nam. The process of in vitro propagation of Ochna integerrima (Lour.) Merr. using stem segments and shoot buds was established with four steps. On medium containing 1.5mg/l BA and 0.5mg/l NAA, shoots proliferated from stem segments have the best count and height of shoots. Medium contain 2mg/l kinetin and 4mg/l BA was the most suitable for propagation of Ochna integerrima's shoots (3.4 shoots/specimen) and found that clusters of shoot were created from shoot buds. The best medium for growing and developing of shoots was ½ MS. The concentration of 0.5 - 1mg/l GA3 should be added to the culture medium to extend the shoots. Then ex vitro Ochna integerrima (Lour.) Merr. were grown in a combination of soil, sand, coir and rice hush with the proportion of 30:50:10:10, achieving the survival rate of 70%.
