Isolation and anti-inflamatory activity of new compounds from chloroform fraction of coptosapelta flavescens roots korth., rubiaceae
Keywords:
Coptosapelta flavescens, 3-(D-quinovopyranosyl)-olean-13-en-27-oic, 3-hydroxy-urs-13-en-27-oicAbstract
Coptosapelta flavescens Korth. is traditionally used by Hre ethnic to treat intestinal worm, arthritis, and wound. The study aims to investigate the chemical characteristics of the roots of Coptosapelta flavescens Korth. Therefore, 3 fractions (CHCl3, EtOAc và n-BuOH) were obtained from roots extract using liquid extraction. CHCl3 fraction was chromatographed with silica gel, accompanied with recrystallization. As a result, two triterpenes, 3β-O-β-D-quinovopyranosid pyrocincholic acid and pyroquinovic acid, were isolated. Their structures were characterized on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence including two- dimensional NMR and mass spectrometric techniques. Both C1 and C2 could inhibit the NO production on RAW264.7. At 30 mM, C1 showed good inhibitory activity at (52.38 ± 0.79) % while C2 possessed weak ani-inflammatory activity at the same concentration (20.37 ± 0.53) %.
