Abstract

Pile knitted fabrics are suitable for the thermo-isolated, soft applications because of the
pore, soft and thick structure. Pile looplength has important influence on the physicomechanical fabrics such as thicknes, thermoisolate capacity and so relates on their application.
This paper researched on the influence of pile looplength on the change of temperature surface
of pile knitted fabric. Single pile knitted fabrics with four values of pile looplength of 7.58mm;
7.86mm; 8.03mm and 8.37mm had been prepared. The results showed that when the pile
looplength increased the fabric thickness decreased with first three values of 7.58mm; 7.86mm;
8.03mm but it reached the maximum thickness of 2.45mm with the pile looplength of 8.37 mm.
The diminuation of the temperature was more important when the left face down to the hot
surface, that depended on the arrangement of the sinker loop on the fabric surface. In this
inverstigation the pile fabric with the pile looplength of 7.86mm get the most important of
temperature diminuation (19%), thought it was not the longest pile looplength.
