Abstract

The study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the influence of knitting
pattern, fabric thickness and weight g/m2
on the air permeability of weft knitted
fabrics woven from PA/spandex yarns. In this study, the authors used 03 fabric
samples with Three fabric samples with the same yarn count, the same yarn
composition ratio of 85% PA/15% Spandex, but with different weave knitting
patterns (basic single, single variable). type, jacquard (basic single, derivation single
and jacquard type) were used for experimentation. The experiments included: Fiber
density Determining fabric density according to the standard TCVN 5794 - 1994;
Fabric weight (g/m2
) according to standard TCVN 8042:2009; Fabric thickness
according to standard TCVN 5071: 2007; Breathability according to TCVN 5092:2009
standard. Research results showed that: The breathability of the fabric depends on
the weave type of knitting pattern, thickness and weight g/m2
; The thinner looser
the weave knitting between the loops of the fabric, the greater the breathability of
the fabric and vice versa; The larger the volume and thickness of the fabric, the more
breathable the fabric tends to decrease the less breathable the fabric became.
