Abstract
This paper presents investiagtes an aluminum aloy A6061 thin - walled
milling process, in which solid end-mill and 5 - axis CNC machining center are
used, to evaluate the effect of cutting parameter (cutting velocity (Vc), feed rate
(fz), radial deep of cut (ar)) cutting force (F) and workpiece’s deformation (df). By
applying Taguchi method and analysis of variance analysis (ANOVA), the study
has determined that input factor that has the greatest impact on cutting force
and deformation is the feed rate with the corresponding effect level of 77.72%
and 82.81% respectively. The regression mathematical equation for the effect of
the shear parameters on the shear force and strain is built with R2 values of
98.03% and 96.06% respectively.
