Abstract

Nowaday, there are many neutral grounding modes in medium voltage
distribution networks such as ungrounded neutral, solid grounding, grounding
via Petersen coil and grounding via impedance; Each has advantages and
disadvantages. The mode selection depends on technical, economical and safety
analysis. This paper present an overview of 35kV networks of Bac Ninh and Nghe
An. A detailed short circuit analysis is considered for 371E27.2 Bac Ninh in three
grounding modes and its impact on relay protection systems.
