GENETIC ALGORITHM-BASED APPROACH FOR UNIT COMMITMENT IN MICROGRID

Abstract

In recent years, the advancement of applied science and technology in the
power system has changed the traditional operation and structure of the
centralized power system into distributed power systems. This paper proposes a
novel approach to address the unit commitment (UC) problem based on the
genetic algorithm (GA) which provides the optimal generation schedule for a
microgrid with several distributed energy resources. The achieved results prove
the feasibility of the proposed approach.
