Abstract

The increasing rate of road accidents is alarming and any vehicle that does not have an effective
braking system is vulnerable to an accident with human and property consequences. This is due to
human error when driving, involving reaction time delays and loss of concentration. Intelligent brake
system (IBS) is an active safety system equipped on modern cars to reduce the possibility of collisions
while participating in traffic. The IBS system helps warn the driver of an impending collision, and
helps the driver brake with maximum force or automatically brake the car in an emergency situation.
This study analyzes the working principle of the IBS brake system, designs a 3D model and makes a
realistic model of the intelligent brake system (IBS). The research results show the working principle
of the actual system and the table of experimental results at different speed and distance ranges. The
model is designed with 3 warning levels, the warning levels are displayed and affected in turn to the
driver so that the driver can recognize danger and if the driver does not affect the brake pedal, then
The brake system automatically activates to ensure the safety of the occupants. Experimental
research has confirmed that our initial approach and design are correct.
