Abstract

This paper presents the results of simulating the effects of exhaust gas
recirculation (EGR) on pressure cylinder and emission formation of diesel dual-fuel
engine (DDF) using AVL Boost software. The research engine is an R180 diesel
engine modified to a dual fuel engine. The EGR ratio increases 10, 20 and 30%.
Results showed that using EGR corrected the increase in NOx when adding
hydrogen. For a diesel-hydrogen dual fuel engine when recirculating at a
reasonable rate, both Soot and NOx emissions can be simultaneously reduced
compared to the original engine.
