Abstract

Abstract: The reformist movement was one of the most significant issues in history due to its direct impact on all aspects of society. Throughout history, reforms and innovations have brought progress and certain values, particularly in the economic and cultural spheres. The reformist thought of the late 19th and early 20th centuries was both a continuation and a transition within Vietnamese intellectual history. It laid the foundation for changes in Vietnamese ideology at the time, shifting from an absolutist monarchy to a more progressive ideological system. This paper aims to analyze the characteristics of reformist thought in Vietnam during this period, examining both domestic and foreign influences on the reformist movement and the impact of these characteristics on Vietnamese society.
