Difficulties of Hoa Lu university students in pronouncing english final consonants

Abstract

Correct pronunciation plays a very important part in communication. The final consonant of a word conveys the meaning of the word. Mispronouncing them can lead to misunderstandings and the communication process can easily break down. For foreign language learners, mastering English sounds is extremely difficult because many of them do not exist in Vietnamese. That is why teaching English pronunciation has received more attention and it needs to be taught properly from the very beginning of language learning. Therefore, the article aims to present students' difficulties in pronouncing English final consonants and thereby provide solutions to help students improve their English speaking skills
