POPULATION STRUCTURE BY AGE AND GENDER IN KHANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

Age and gender are two important demographic factors having a great impact on the economy and population of Vietnam in general, and of a specific province/city in particular. In Khanh Hoa province, age and gender structures have an enormous influence on some main features of the province, including labour force, economic growth and GRDP as well as control of gender imbalance at birth, social insurance, social welfare and social healthcare. Therefore, changes in age and gender structures in Khanh Hoa province over the past 30 years (1990-2019) are essential elements to support planning and organizing the province’s policies in economic and social development in later years.
