Abstract
Pesticides play an important role in maintaining agricultural productivity. Among the pesticides available on the market today, Neonicotinoids are widely used, leading to an increase in their residues in the environment. The presence of Neonicotinoids in soil, water, and air can affect organisms and human health through the food chain. Therefore, research on Neonicotinoids is essential towards a green agriculture. This study aims to summarize general information on the origin, characteristics, and fate and transport of Neonicotinoids in the environment. Methods for analyzing samples containing Neonicotinoids and techniques for removing them from the environment are also presented in this study. This study provides a basis for further research on Neonicotinoids as well as a basis for environmental and agricultural managers in the period towards sustainable development.
