Abstract

A survey was conducted by interviewing 120 frog households in Dong Thap and Tien Giang, aiming to assess the status of frog disease commonly found in Thai frogs farmed; thereupon, one disease with the worst damage was chosen for analysis. The results show that the disease with the worst damage on frog farming in the two provinces was sores with hemorrhage (causing 33.0% damage in Dong Thap; and 45.5% in Tien Giang). For treating this disease, farmers often used antibiotics of Cefalexine, Sulfadiazine, Amoxicilin and Enrofloxacin. The common chemicals used for environmental treatments during the frog disease were salt, lime, iodine, BKC, KMnO4 and CuSO4. The treatment effectiveness of this disease was correlated closely to the period of applying antibiotics (with 96.7% estimated effectiveness).
