Abstract
Aromatic coconut is a favorite coconut because of its sweetness and aroma. However, its productivity is currently very low. One of the reasons for its low productivity was the low fruitification in the rainy season. This study focused on identifying the causes of low fruit productivity in Cocos nucifera L. in the rainy season, thereby suggesting some measures to improve the rate of fruitification. Flowering, fruitification, and young fruit fall were monitored together with the contents of glucose, starch, and activity of plant growth regulators determined. The results showed that the number of female flowers, the pollination, the fertilization of aromatic coconut in the rainy season decreased in comparison to those in the dry season, while the young fruit fall occurred within the first month of its growth.
