Abstract

Tran Thi NgH is a typical female writer of urban prose in Southern Vietnam in the period 1954 - 1975. Unlike Nguyen Thi Thuy Vu, Nguyen Thi Hoang, Tuy Hong, .. and many other female writers, Tran Thi NgH joined the literature career at a later age, but was immediately recognized for her bold writing style and existential spirit. "Stray Bullets" is one of her good and typical works. This article does not analyze all manifestations of existential thought expressed in the work, but mainly focuses on analyzing the loneliness and rebellion articulated in the character Nguyet in "Stray Bullets", representing influence of existential thought into Southern literature in the years 1954-1975 and at the same time helping readers have a deeper look at the writer's characteristics and writing style.
