Abstract

The exile is one of the important contents of postcolonialism, often encountered in subjects who are separated from their true homeland or their cultural and ethnic origin. This is still a fairly new theory for domestic researchers. Through the survey, we found that many short stories published in Bach Khoa magazine have initially built quite obvious exiled characters. Using analysis, proof, history-society, interdisciplinary research, the article will point out some specific manifestations of the exiled mind in young people through lonely and strange states, unfamiliar, distant from the homeland and "deracinated" from the national origin. Research results show complex psychological states in young people, when they are not only the ones directly affected by the impact of colonialism, but also hold the country destiny. Thereby, one can imagine the great pressure of colonialism on young people in South Vietnam during more than twenty years being invaded.
