Commentary on the trends of changing marriage and family: Orientations for the development and construction of the modern Vietnamese family

Abstract

Based on the analysis of relevant sources, the article makes some comments on the current trend of changing marriage and family in Vietnam such as the age of first marriage among young people tending to rise. The family values of birth-giving tradition are gradually being replaced by modern thought. Cases of cross border-marriage is likely rising and showing the consequences of the changes. The Party and Goverment have adopted many policies to strengthen and develop the contemporary Vietnamese family.
