Abstract

The article “The essential values to “be human”, “live as humans” and “become a good man” as prescribed in Ho Chi Minh's inner wishes/virtue teachings outlines Ho Chi Minh's living philosophy and essential values for a good society as He expected. These human values are presented in the following aspects: Goodness as the root to “be human”; on the basis of “goodness”, people further to train “đại học chi đạo, tại minh minh đức, tại thân dân” (life-long learning requires a lucid mind), to “live as humans” and of “thrift/affection” to “become a good man”.
