Abstract

The nation’s traditional art form is reformed theater. This type was born in Southern Vietnam, and then spread to other regions, closely associated with people’s lives. The reformed has existed for more than a century, taking up trials during this period and with many outstanding achievements. That is the pride of the people of the South in particular and of Vietnam people in general. This article looks at the play Reformed Ben Dong Song Trem, modified from Duong Ha’s novel Ben Dong Song Trem, from a comparative perspective. In the modern context, as reformed theater gradually loses its unique position, it makes more sense to study the type of reformed theater.
