READING CULTURE DEVELOPMENT FOR STUDENTS OF DONG THAP UNIVERSITY - SITUATION AND SOLUTIONS

Abstract

Reading culture is an important element in the educational environment for constructing and developing student characters. Reading culture helps increase their capabilities to research, self-study, evaluate, think positively and critically. It is one of the elements contributing to the quality of education and training. We have conducted the project titled “Developing reading culture for students”. Thereby, the relevant solutions are applied to Le Vu Hung Center of Information and Library, Dong Thap University. In this paper, we will address research methods and theoretical framework for developing reading culture; the realities of reading culture among students of Dong Thap University and then some solutions recommended.
