ORGANIZING CREATIVE ACTIVITIES OF PAPER MARBLING PAINTING FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

Abstract

Paper marbling art is the integration of arts and science: the floating oil paints on the water surface are swirled into patterns randomly or with some intervention, followed by drying the painting products. This is an easy and enjoyable activity for children. It is kind of interesting experience to help free children from conventional patterns towards creativity in model making. Moreover, it helps them know about one principle of integrating arts and science, developing aesthetic affection and imagination. This marbling painting process is easy and quick to conduct with cheap materials, and its obtained products are unique, various, and appropriate for 4^th, 5^th graders.
