THE CRITERIA FOR IDENTIFYING PROSE POETRY

Abstract

Prose poetry is "bisexual" of lyricism and narrative prose. Though born and grown in Vietnam for almost a century now, it still causes many controversial issues regarding the concept of genre, classification boundaries or characteristics, etc. On investigating prose poetry, we have come up with some initial criteria for identification based on the similarities found in surveyed works. The results show that it is a free texture in form, with the content imbued with intellectuals and of musical orientated tendency.
