DEVELOPMENT TRENDS IN ONLINE JOURNALISM IN VIETNAM

Abstract

Information and communication technologies have rapidly developed and this has brought many impacts to journalism, especially the online one. In Vietnam, online-newspapers have undergone radical changes and innovations, progressively adapting to the contemporary global trends and the public demands in news-delivery. This article aims to investigate the development trends of online-journalism in the recent and coming years on its predicted growth. Specifically, online-newspapers of new types are supposed to be emerging with more in-depth contents, eye-catching designs and high interaction. Added to these are information collection and delivery by mobile devices. Finally, social networking would be an effective tool for newspapers to target the public, increasing the reader-newspaper interactions as well as becoming an important source of news.
