ENHACING THE TEACHING OF LINEAR ALGEBRA: OVERCOMING THE PROBLEM OF STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE LOSS AND DISTRACTION

Abstract
The aim of this study is to analyze the factors impacting on academic performance of freshmen in the course of Linear Algebra. The two main factors are students’ knowledge loss and distraction. The methods applied in teaching the course of Linear Algebra - for the freshmen - consist of creating learning motivation; using Information Technology and Casio calculators; selecting the content and number of exercises appropriately for students but ensuring output standards; encouraging students to solve assignments regularly and correcting mistakes; lastly, reminding knowledge. The academic achievement of studens showed better results.
