KHMER POETRY - CURRENT SITUATION OF COMPOSING AND RESEARCHING

Abstract

Khmer poetry is one of the typical written literary genres of the Khmer ethnic group that has had a large number of works, and the content diversely reflects Khmer people’s daily life and culture. Composing and researching Khmer poetry has attracted the academic committee in the recent years. This article is to review outstanding achievements in the related works as well as analyzing the values of Khmer poetry in recent times. Thereby, the article orients some prospective research on Khmer poetry in the future.
